FY27 Community Investment Grant Application is Open! 

 United Way of Southwest Virginia is now accepting applications for its FY27 Community Investment Grants, supporting nonprofits working to improve lives and strengthen communities across Southwest Virginia and the New River Valley. Through the Community Investment Grant process, UWSWVA invests in mission-driven partners addressing the region’s most pressing challenges. 

Key Funding Focus Areas for FY27 Include:

Child & Youth Opportunity: Programs that strengthen school engagement, literacy, out-of-school learning, and youth mental health supports.

Financial Stability: Initiatives that promote stable housing, access to utilities, nutritious food, and transportation solutions for economically vulnerable families, particularly ALICE households.

Eligible applicants must be tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations operating within UWSWVA’s service area, which includes Bland, Buchanan, Carroll, Dickenson, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Lee, Montgomery, Pulaski, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise, Wythe counties, and the cities of Bristol, Galax, Norton, and Radford. Applicants must demonstrate evidence-based programming, measurable impact, and financial stability. 

The grant period runs July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027.
