Capital Campaign
A Sustainable Future
The budget for the project is primarily capital expenses, but recognizing the additional costs associated with owning the land and building, United Way is planning to establish an endowment to assist with covering the annual utility, maintenance, and repair.
Projected Budget
This is estimated to be a $23,000,000 capital project. That includes the facility and land purchase, renovation, design expenses, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Partners
$14,000,000 has already been pledged and another $5,000,000 is in development. We are asking our community to help us raise $3,000,000 through charitable gifts.
United Way of Southwest Virginia has been working in this region for 50 years.
Over time, our region has changed, and we have changed with it. Instead of funding solutions that treat symptoms, we research, test, and scale solutions that address root causes.
United Way of Southwest Virginia is more than a team of fundraisers. We develop innovative programs that fill gaps in services. We lead community-driven solutions that are measurable and scalable.
Using a cradle-to-career framework, we focus on improving the region’s health, education, and financial stability. Our footprint covers 20% of Virginia and represents some of the most economically challenged communities in the Commonwealth.
We work across partisan and income divides, leading community conversations and bringing people from all walks of life to the table. We involve experts, leaders, practitioners, neighborhoods, community members, governments, and systems.
We are impact makers, and Southwest Virginia is our home.
Be a part of something big.
