Request for Proposals for Design-Build Services

The United Way of Southwest Virginia desires to contract with an experienced Design-Build Team for the design and construction of a new Regional Child Care and Workforce Development Center to be located at 300 Towne Center Drive, Abingdon, VA. A mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference to include a tour of the proposed site will be held at 2:00 P.M. EST, on Monday, November 14, 2022. All requests for clarifications or questions regarding this request for proposal must be made in writing, by emailed to tstaton@unitedwayswva.org and received by 4:30 P.M. EST, on Monday, November 21, 2022.

Sealed proposals will be accepted prior to 4:30 P.M. EST, on Friday, December 2, 2022. Proposals received after the stated due date and time shall not be considered.

Request for Proposals for Childcare Program Operator

UWSWVA seeks to identify a qualified operator for the new child development center. This proposal is open to all types of applicants—non-profit, government, and for-profit organizations. The amount of the overall award will be $3.5 million, with the expectation that these funds will be expended during the planning, development, and early implementation stages (first 12 months of operations) of the project.

It is recommended that applicants submit letters of intent at least 10 days before the application deadline.
